Swingin' Through the Trees

Brian was supposed to leave on Monday for a month, but now he's not leaving until Thursday! We were both happy to have a few extra days to spend together and to celebrate his birthday weekend and President's Day!

The weather this weekend has been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We've had BBQs with friends almost every night and yesterday we got burritos from The Tortilla Factory and took them to the beach. Today we ventured out to a place we've been wanting to go to for a while, Forest Adventure Park. What a wonderful weekend! I am sad that it is almost over.

Forest Adventure Park is a zip-line course with some beautiful ocean views through the trees! When we arrived, we paid our money and "signed our life away" before being picked up by a van and taken to the actual park. Once at the park, they got us all strapped into our harnesses and pulled and tightened them so tight! We were all laughing and walking funny. We got a quick 5 minute brief on how to clip in and ride the zip lines (from a guy who spoke very little English) and were sent off on our own! Kinda scary, but once we got the hang of it, it was easy and soooo much fun!

We completed a series of zip lines before reaching an obstacle course at the end. The obstacle course consisted of climbing cargo net ladders, swinging bars, swinging board bridges, a Tarzan swing and one final zip line. The Tarzan swing consists of climbing up some very high ladders, clipping yourself on a free swinging rope and jumping from a platform in which you free fall into a jumbo cargo net. It took me a minute before I got the courage to jump! It was HIGH and the guys who went before us slammed into the net so hard! After doing it though, it wasn't so bad. I can't wait to go back and take visitors if anyone else comes out before we leave next summer (hint, hint)!

SO MUCH FUN!

Beautiful views throughout the course!

They didn't give us any water though, we had to pay for it. They did give us orange and lemon soda about halfway through the course though. It was yummy!
