Mail Call

Sad as it may be, some days checking the mail is the highlight of my day! You have to remember that we are pretty limited on shopping options on this rock. So, naturally, I get most of my shopping done online.

First, I had heard about a company called Birchbox from a friend. It is $10 a month and each month you receive different random samples of beauty products. And not just cheapo products. Nice ones you would find at Sephora. I love trying new products, but hate coughing up the dough for the full size without trying it first or getting a recommend from a friend. So, this was perfect for me! And it was so fun to get my surprise samples in the mail today. Here's what I got.

Next, I finally found my favorite (but discontinued) lipstick on eBay a few weeks ago. It's called "Galaxy Girl" by NARS. I have been using my pinky to get the last little bit out of the tube I currently have, but I got my new one in the mail today! It's amazing how a tiny tube of lipstick can make you feel. It's the simple things, y'all.

I also got a new book in the mail today. I am glad because Brian went out of town this week for work, so it gives me something to do after Caden goes to bed. I am not much of a reader, but I just read Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and it was pretty good and kept my attention, which is hard to do. The Help by Katheryn Stockett came in the mail today and have heard good things about it, so I am excited about it. Has anyone read it? Thoughts? I guess I tend to like books that turn into movies because both of them are movies this year. I like comparing though, even though I am usually disappointed.

My grandmother (Nanny) writes me often. There was a letter from her today thanking me for the postcard from Hawaii. She wrote it on the prettiest stationary that I thought it was a formal invitation at first. So sweet.

Finally, we got a choke chain for Zeke in the mail. We used to have one for him when he was a puppy, but he outgrew it and we never got another one. I know, so mean of me, but he sucks at walking on a leash. One stray cat and I am being scraped against the pavement and Caden is about to topple over in the stroller! Not anymore!

You are going to LOVE The Help! It's based in my home town too. ;) Might have to try this little beauty box you are talking about. I have a friend that does it with shoes, but need to find out more info. Mail always makes me happy!
