Kerama Islands

Yesterday, I took Caden to the base childcare center for "Give Parent's a Break" day. They do it once a month for FREE and spouses of deployed service members get first dibs on sign-ups! He stayed there from 8-4:30 while some friends and I boated off to the Keramas for a snorkeling adventure!

We went with the Japanese dive company across the street, Island Message. I was a bit worried about the language barriers, but it ended up being amazing! There were a few staff that spoke enough English to help us get by and with hand gestures and sound effects, it all worked out!

Carly is excited!!!

Hiro, the owner of Island Message. Super friendly! His brother, Toshi, took us on the banana boat for free!
The boat ride out was about an hour and once we arrived, we saw this...

Ready, set...
Goooooo!

We stayed for about 2 hours and snorkeled, jumped off the top deck of the boat, layed out, ate our mystery bento box lunch, and rode a BANANA BOAT (soooo fun and hysterical!). Then, we went to this spot for another 2 hours of snorkeling, laying out, and jumping off the boat!

It was such a beautiful, relaxing day at sea! And nobody got sea sick, HOORAY! :)

Wow...this sounds like a completely perfect day!
What a contrast to my typical 'mother's day out' years ago! HA
