Well, we survived another doozy. Typhoon Muifa. It was supposed to be a cat 4 typhoon, but ended up hitting as a cat 2, thank the Lord.
Caden, Zeke, and I all escaped to Audrey and Ken's house on base on Thursday morning as soon as they announced TCCOR-1 (Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are possible within 12 hours). They live in the sturdiest concrete bunker of a house and I felt so safe! Car was loaded down with baby food, milk, diapers, water, and wine. We were ready to camp out for a night. Boy was I wrong. We ended up staying THREE DAYS and two nights. They kept saying it was going to end, but it just kept blasting us. We thought it was never going to end!
Caden and Madison (born the same week) played their little hearts out and had a great time! Caden also had a great time with their ever patient and lazy Bulldog, Kayla.
The storm was at it's strongest on Friday night. We were watching a movie and all of a sudden it got crazy strong. Ken taped the dining room windows and helped Audrey and I move the sleeping babies away from the windows in the bedrooms. We had to put towels down along the dining room windows and door since water was coming in so fast it was BUBBLING in the windows and doors. We must have changed the towels six times or so while mopping as well. A little scary, but we were fine!
On Sunday, after 3 days of typhoon force winds, 41 inches of rain, and 5 extra pounds from all the food and wine, we were finally FREEEEEEE and took the babies for a walk to see the damage. On base many trees were down, branches everywhere and lots of leaves. One four car driveway in a low-lying area was flooded and the owners out cleaning them said only one car would start. They said at one point that the water was up to their waist when they walked into the road! Once I got home, a tree branch was in my walkway and a little water had gotten through the little patio door in Caden's room and half his rug was wet, but that's about it!

Thank God it was not any worse. I am sure it was pretty frightening though. Looks like Caden and the bulldog get along really well! We love you and are so happy you are home safe!
