Girls' Cruise- Part 1

For those of you who don't already know, I just got back from a week-long girls' cruise! We had originally planned for our husbands to come, but with their crazy schedules and limited amounts of leave, it ended up being just us girls! I went with Charity, Andromache, and Leah. Both Andromache and Leah have husbands that work in the same squadron as Brian.

Our first stop on this crazy adventure was Singapore! This was where we boarded The Legend of the Seas ship. We arrived at 12:05AM after a long flight and sleep-walked our way to the hotel and crashed. One strange thing about Singapore hotel beds is that we never had a top sheet. Just a fitted sheet and a comforter. We were too tired to care though!

The next day we got on the HIPPO bus and toured the city! You can hop on and hop off whenever you want, which was nice.

Then, we hopped off again at the Raffles Hotel. Sir Raffles founded the British colony of Singapore and the hotel has lots of history. We also wanted to check out the "Singapore Sling", which originated at the Raffles' Long Bar. The Long Bar was one of the only places in Singapore where we were actually encouraged to litter. We threw our peanut shells on the floor! Singapore is an extremely clean city and has strict laws about littering, spitting, chewing gum, and even dancing. LOL!

Finally, we hopped off at the Clark Quay area. It is a long strip of restaurants and bars on one side, and a shopping mall on the other with a man-made river in between. It reminded me a lot of the San Antonio Riverwalk. We even found a great Mexican food restaurant, La Iguana!

After dinner, we took a ride on a Bum Boat. My camera sucks at taking pictures at night (or it could just be user-error). So, I apologize for the fuzzy pictures.

Stay tuned for more!
