I got to visit Brian in Arkansas Aug 16th and 17th! We had a lot of fun going to Hot Springs (an hour away from Little Rock) and staying at the Peabody Hotel in downtown Little Rock.
Hot Springs, AR is an interesting city... Hot Springs is traditionally best known for the natural spring water that gives it its name, flowing out of the ground at a temperature of 147 degrees. It is a very successful spa town, and the main strip is called "Bathhouse Row". They have tons of bathhouses that are pretty much day spas with the addition of whirlpools filled with the natural spring water.
Brian and I went to Quapaw Baths and had couples massages followed by a soak in their 4 different whirlpools, each at a different temperature. It was very relaxing! :o)
After our afternoon at Hot Springs, we went back to Little Rock and stayed at the Peabody Hotel. This hotel is home to 5 ducks, who live in the lobby fountain by day and their Royal Peabody Duck Palace by night.
Each morning at 11am, the Peabody Ducks leave their palace and are escorted on a red carpet from the elevator to the fountain. Then, at 5pm, the march is reversed back to the palace! It was so cute! Everything in the hotel is duck themed too... SO much fun!
It was good to spend time with Brian. For those of you wondering when he will be finished in Arkansas, it has been moved up to next Thursday, September 4th!
He will be in Corpus over Labor Day weekend in order to help me get ready for the movers who are coming next week! AHH! It sure is going to be fun sleeping on an air mattress. :o(
