Okinawa's Best Sushi...

Happy New Year! If I can copy something my Grandpa said this week, "I hope your best days of 2008 are your worst days of 2009!" Just wanted to share a few pictures of our NYE at our favorite little sushi restaurant on the island, Sushi Zen.

It is run by an Okinawan man, who lived in Queens NY for 25 years and had a sushi restaurant. Since he and his waitstaff speak English and he has English menus, it naturally appeals to the military community. He gets his fish fresh every day from the fish market, which I think anyone can go to, I need to go check it out one of these days. The salmon he serves is to die for! He marinades it in some special marinade that is sooooo good. The rolls he makes are really inventive like a "caterpillar" roll that looks like, well, a caterpillar. A "flower", "volcano", and many more.

We went with the Nabors (neighbors) and some others to eat here on NYE. Here are some pictures. :o)

I haven't been to Sushi Zen yet. Chris doesn't like fish so I only get sushi when I'm with the girls!
